Drywall and CEILING Patching and repair

What texture is on your walls?

Orange Peel Texture

Knock-Down Texture

Flat FInish Level 5

Plaster Repair

The four common textures found in most homes. To achieve each type of repair a different method must be used.

• Orange Peel Texture Repairs - This is the most common type of texture used in newer homes, Drywall mud is shot out of a hooper at a high pressure to create orange peel like ridges.

• Knockdown Texture Repair - Knockdown is a bit harder to get a perfect match on, after the mud is sprayed onto the wall is must them be knocked-down by a special knife while it’s still wet.

• Level 5 Finish - This is a less common texture, usually done in custom homes to achieve perfectly flat and smooth walls. Instead of a texture being sprayed on, the wall gets multiple layers of mud applied and sanded - until perfectly smooth

• Lath and Plaster Repairs - Found in older homes built before gypsum board was widespread. Most of the time it can be repaired but sometimes we recommend that new drywall be installed when perfect flatness is needed - such as when you want to install cabinets on top.
